Reception Area Attendants will sign for all deliveries requiring signature of a KDADS employee, excluding items that appear to be of a personal nature, those items should be signed for by the addressee if at all possible.
When the mailman arrives he will proceed to the mailroom as usual. If the Mailroom Attendant is not available the mailman will return to the Reception Area where the mail will be signed for by the Reception Area Attendant. At that time the mail can either be placed in the mail receptacle that has been provided, OR, at the Reception Area Attendant’s discretion the mail can be delivered to the mailroom. If the mail is deposited in the receptacle provided, a phone call or email should be directed to the Mailroom Attendant to let him/her know there is mail located at the Reception Area.
All deliveries requiring a signature will be signed for by the Reception Area Attendant. Any package that fits into the mail receptacle should be placed in the receptacle. A phone call should be placed to the Mailroom Attendant as soon as possible asking him/her to remove the package from the Reception Area. If the Mailroom Attendant is unavailable, an attempt should be made to locate someone in Procurement to remove the package from the Reception Area.
Following is the order of point of contact for removal of packages or mail from the Reception Area.
